This week I wanna dive in to whether Etsy is WORTH IT for YOUR specific shop.
Before I get into the nitty gritty goodness, I just wanted to let you know we have some JUICY members-only videos on this topic too!
And now, here’s your weekly article as promised ⇣😉
Does it feel like this whole Etsy thing is just hitting you with one big stick after another?
Nothing is working, you feel like you're doing everything at once, and you're convinced that it's impossible to do shit on Etsy.
You know how when ONE thing goes wrong, it feels like EVERYTHING else goes with it???
Yup, that's a thing we all go through. And it's called CATASTROPHIZING.
Catastrophizing is an irrational thought that something is far worse than it actually is. Catastrophizing can generally can take two different forms: making a catastrophe out of a current situation, or imagining a catastrophe out of a future situation.
Here's the deal:
You don't always have control over what happens to you. But you DO have control over what you do next.
Most people say "you have control over how you REACT" -- but I don't like that. I think it's a good thing to get upset or frustrated -- Because "upset" is an emotion that TELLS you it's time to fix something.
So if Etsy isn't working for you, and you feel like it's all out of your control, that's just not true.
You are setting up a SYSTEM that's mean to support you for YEARS to come.
And it's not gonna happen in a month. Not even if you sell your soul to Satan.
(lol, even Satan needs a minute! 😈)
In fact, it will build GRADUALLY. For some people, that happens from the beginning. For others, it can take a year or more.
It all depends on how much work you're willing to pour into the business.
(Statistically speaking, if you make an effort and try lots of tactics, eventually something will create success). But the object here is to prevent you from having to try everything.
And you shouldn't just be sitting around WAITING for that success to come to you, it's literally something YOU create from scratch.
In order to do that, you need to do ONE important thing:
Instead of focusing on things you can't control, I want you to think about what you CAN do instead.
What should you do if you get handed a big old bag of frustration?:
If you WANT to save your Etsy shop, try these tricks:
Are you selling something customers WANT? 90% of Etsy sellers just sell something they MAKE, they never check to see if customers actually WANT what they sell!
Fix that problem here:
How are your photos? If you answered "ok" or "fine", then you're not doing yourself any favors. If you want to BECOME a better seller, your shop has to become BETTER too!
Fix mediocre pictures here:
Do you have enough items in your shop? This is usually a BIGGER problem than SEO is for most sellers – you should have AT LEAST 40 items in your shop if you want to be found on Etsy!
Fix that problem here:
SEO can make a huge difference. People need to FIND your items in order to buy them! If your traffic is lagging and you don't know how to fix it, then get that under control here:Action Plan: Traffic Tweaks to Beat Your Competitors
And if you DON'T want to save your Etsy shop...
Then what are we even talking about?!? Not WANTING to do something = a sign that you should STOP.
If you're USED to being in a situation where you have very little choice about what you do (aka a bad job, or having to work to pay your bills), this may seem like a NEW concept to you.
But if you DON'T want to try ANY of the suggestions on this page, then your Etsy shop is HOLDING you back.
It's clear you don't REALLY want to sell on Etsy.
So the answer here is simple: just STOP!!
There are a million other things you can do online instead. Maybe THAT should be your next google search!
Wanna sell MORE on Etsy... like, YESTERDAY?
Most people just hop on google and search for "Etsy tricks" to make more sales.
But I have news for you – if YOU found that Etsy trick for free, then so did EVERY. ONE. ELSE.
Common advice is OVERUSED until it doesn't work anymore.
And ultimately, your shop is more unique than you think. It's not like your competitor's or anyone else's...Otherwise you'd be seeing identical results.
Here's a shocker: there's no MAGIC SECRET you're missing.
People who succeed on Etsy decided a long time ago that they were just gonna be STUBBORN, and keep trying until they succeed.
None of this "I'm giving myself three months to see if this works..."
That's a BS excuse...And it ENCOURAGES you to just walk away if the world doesn't hand you exactly what you asked for on a silver platter.
And the fact is, you WILL be disappointed if you just wait for "the universe" to "make it happen".
The universe doesn't hand people shit on a silver platter.
But YOU can make it happen for YOURSELF.
Is it time for you to BE STUBBORN and keep trying until you succeed?
If you're READY to get your PROFIT on, let us help you make it happen faster.
We do individual attention (cause your shop IS unique), Etsy courses, and tactics that are HIDDEN from the rest of the internet.
